ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-- Freshman Caitlin Quon (Richmond, B.C., Canada) has been named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Swimmer of the Week after a standout start to her collegiate career. Quon won three events and was runner-up in two others as UND hosted St. Cloud State and Nebraska last Friday and Saturday at Hyslop pool.

The Richmond, B.C. native started her collegiate career on a nice note, winning the 1000 meter freestyle in 10:28.21 in her first event Friday, nearly nine seconds ahead of the closest competition. She then registered a pair of runner-up finishes later that night, touching in 2:11.06 in the 200 IM and 5:10.54 in the 500 free.

On Saturday, she scored two more wins as UND took both duals against St. Cloud State and registered close losses to the Huskers. She started Saturday's meet with a win in the 1650 freestyle, touching in 17:38.40, more than 13 seconds better than the field. She also won the 400 IM with ease, recording a 4:34.54 time.
