Co-recipient (with sophomore forward Nick Schmaltz) of UND’s Coaches' Unsung Hero Award … Made the first 14 appearances of his collegiate career, including 11 starts ... His 2.13 goals against average ranked ninth in UND single-season history ... Took over as UND’s starter when Cam Johnson went down with an injury in the third game of the year and started the next 11 straight games ... Came off the bench in the third period Oct. 16 at Bemidji State after Johnson’s injury to make his official collegiate debut ... Made his first start the following night in UND’s home opener against BSU and stopped 19 of 21 shots for his first career win ... Recorded his first career shutout in UND’s following game with 27 saves in a 2-0 win at Vermont (Oct. 23) ... 2013-14 (Freshman): Received team’s Tom Hoghaug Memorial Scholarship, awarded to the freshman who demonstrates initiative, character and a sense of responsibility … Named to Academic All-NCHC Team ... Suited up seven times but did not see any game action behind veterans Zane McIntyre and Clarke Saunders … Earned first letter.
Before UND: Spent the past three seasons with the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) … Named Canada’s 2012-13 national Junior A Goaltender of the Year and SJHL Goaltender of the Year after going 27-11-2 and leading the league in goals against average (1.83), save percentage (.939) and shutouts (six) … Went 10-6 with a 2.11 GAA and .932 SV% during the SJHL playoffs … Earned SJHL Goaltender of the Month honors four out of six months … Named Humboldt’s Team MVP, Hardest Worker, Best Team Player, Most Dedicated Player, and 3-Star Award winner … Helped Humboldt to an SJHL championship in 2011-12 after leading the league in GAA (2.28) and shutouts (four) … A 2010 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan … Competed in both hockey and golf as a prep … Member of the Great Distinction Honor Roll.
