Dranka led all defensive linemen with 25 tackles and 3.5 sacks, while his unit as a whole accounted for 12.5 sacks and 33.0 tackles for loss and helped the defense rank a top the Big Sky in total defense and rush defense.
Gigli (pronounced Gee-lee) remained in the Big Sky with his latest move, having spent the previous three seasons upon his arrival in Grand Forks working in a similar position at Sacramento State.
Prior to his stop in California’s capital city, Gigli was a defensive and special teams quality control coach at Minnesota for four seasons (2007-10). His primary duties with the Gophers were coaching the defensive line along with the placekickers, punters and long snappers.
Gigli was an all-conference performer and team captain during his playing days at Trine University (2000-03) and holds a master’s degree from Western Illinois where he spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach (2004-05). His first full-time coaching job came at Wittenberg University (Ohio) during the 2006 season.
