Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round (10th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft … Joined Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews (third overall in 2006) as the only UND forwards ever to be drafted in the top 10 … Spent the past two seasons with the BCHL’s Penticton Vees, where he was a teammate of fellow UND freshmen Dixon Bowen and Colton Poolman … Named Hockey Canada’s Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) National Player of the Year, as well as the CJHL’s MVP and Top Forward … Was also named the BCHL MVP … Amassed 42 goals and 104 points in 48 games, leading the BCHL in assists (62) and points per game (2.17) … Added another six goals and 14 points in 11 playoff games … Led Penticton in goals (23) and totaled 45 points in 46 games as a rookie in 2014-15 … Spent his 2013-14 season with the Okanagan Rockets of the B.C.
