OGDEN, Utah-- Senior outfielder Taylor Nadler has been named Big Sky Conference co-Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by league officials. Nadler is coming off an opening weekend performance that saw her record 10 runs batted in and ushered UND to three wins.
The New Haven, Mo., native hit safely in all five games and had four straight games with at least one RBI as North Dakota went 3-2 in South Carolina this week. Nadler collected a team-high 10 RBI and scored three runs, going 7-for-16 in the five games.
She doubled and drove in two in the Friday’s win at Charleston Southern, then hit her first homer of the season Saturday against Towson, picking up three RBI. Sunday at South Carolina State, the senior recorded four more RBI, including two hits in the first inning of the 9-0 rout of SCSU. She extended her hitting streak to seven straight games, dating back to last season.
Nadler and the Fighting Hawks head to Tempe, Ariz., for the Littlewood Classic, hosted by Arizona State University Friday though Sunday. UND will play Texas State Friday before a tilt with the 18th-ranked Sun Devils later that afternoon. North Dakota will also face San Diego and Texas State a second time Saturday before the finale against Illinois State Sunday.
