A member of UND Athletics' senior administrative staff since August 2008, Daniella Irle was promoted to Deputy Director of Athletics in May 2013. She also serves as senior woman administrator (SWA) for UND Athletics.
Irle had served as senior associate athletics director for internal operations and senior woman administrator since June 2010. She previously served at UND as associate athletics director for internal operations and senior woman administrator since August 2008.
Her day-to-day duties include departmental oversight of the compliance office, athletics academic services, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, Title IX policy and compliance, the summer school athletics aid and degree completion aid programs, and direct supervision of various sports assigned by the athletics director.
Irle also serves as the department’s senior staff liaison with various campus entities such as Human Resources, the Office of Admissions, the Housing Office, the Dean of Student's office, the Student Success Center, the Office of the Registrar, the Student Financial Aid Office, University Police, the Emergency Management Office, and the University Counseling Center.
She is also UND’s primary liaison for sport and scheduling regulations with the Big Sky Conference, Western Athletics Conference (WAC) and the America Sky Golf Conference.
Irle came from the Tulane University, where she served as the assistant athletics director of business and student services operations.
Prior to that appointment, Irle spent three seasons as the head coach of the Tulane women's swimming and diving team, re-starting the program after a 13-year hiatus. She was named Conference USA Coach of the Year in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
Irle also spent 10 years as the Fresno State swimming and diving coach and was the WAC Coach of the Year in 1993 and 1995.
