THIS WEEK: North Dakota heads back on the road for a Western Collegiate Hockey Association series this weekend at the National Hockey Center against St. Cloud State on Friday and Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m. and 2:07 p.m., respectively.

ABOUT SCSU:The Huskies are entering this weekend with a 8-16-2 record (4-15-1-0 WCHA) and are on a five-game winless streak (0-4-1). The carry a 4-6-0 mark in the NHC.

Head Coach Jeff Giesen is in his seventh season and has a career record of 74-143-29. He is assisted by Jim Fetter and Brita Schroeder.

Sophomore Julie Friend and freshman Katie Fitzgerald have split time in net this season and each have four wins on the year. They have a combined 2.94 goals against average and .914 save percentage.

Offensively the Huskies are led by a trio of upperclassmen in junior Molli Mott and seniors Alex Nelson and Haylea Schmid who have 20, 20 and 18 points, respectively.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES: The Huskies have the edge in the all-time series, 19-18-2, but UND has won all of its last 10 meetings in which it has outscored SCSU 56-9.

North Dakota swept St. Cloud State earlier this year on Oct. 19-20 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena by 3-1 and 1-0 scores, respectively. Senior Jocelyne Lamoureux had two goals on Friday and scored the lone goal on Sunday.

LAST ACTION: UND played to a series split at home against No. 7 Wisconsin winning 3-0 before dropping a 2-1 decision in the series finale.

Freshman netminder Shelby Amsley-Benzie backstopped UND to the win with her first career shutout on Friday stopping all 19 shots faced. Jocelyne Lamoureux led the offensive charge with two goals and an assist while freshman Meghan Dufault had a pair of assists.

It was a 1-0 game until late in the third period when North Dakota added two goals in the final three minutes to secure the win. UND's win over Wisconsin ended a 10-game win-less streak against the Badgers.

The Badgers salvaged a series split as Alex Rigsby was able to out duel Shelby Amsley-Benzie in a defensive battle.

Wisconsin lit the lamp only 4:50 into regulation but Jocelyne Lamoureux answered at the 17:35 mark of the first period to send the game into the first intermission tied 1-1. The score would remain tied into the third period when Madison Packer took advantage of a blocked shot that led to a breakaway where she scored the eventual game-winner at 15:25 of the third period.

CONFERENCE HONORS: Shelby Amsley-Benzie, who collected her first collegiate shutout in a two-game split with nationally-ranked Wisconsin last weekend, has been named the WCHA Women's Rookie of the Week for January 22.

A freshman from Warroad, Minn., Amsley-Benzie made both starts for UND on the Jan. 18-19 weekend, stopping 48 of 50 shots on goal for a .960 save percentage, posting four shutout periods, and blanking the Badgers on all 11 of their series power-play opportunities. She notched her first career shutout last Friday with a 19-save, 3-0, victory, and then surrendered just one goal while making 29 stops in a 2-1 setback last Saturday. She was the No. 2 Star of the Game Friday and the No. 3 Star of the Game on Saturday.

In 14 games played for North Dakota this season, Amsley-Benzie owns a 7-6-0 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and .892 save percentage.

TAKING ADVANTAGE: Senior Jocelyne Lamoureux leads the nation with 11 power-play goals on the season. She is also tied for the national lead with six game-winning goals.

FROM THE BLUE LINE: Senior Monique Lamoureux has a one-point lead over Minnesota's Megan Bozek for the national lead in points by a defenseman. Lamoureux has 38 points on the year.

CARVING UP THE DEFENSE: Junior Michelle Karvinen is currently fourth in the nation in points per game at 2.08 (8-17-25).

POLL POSITION: UND is back in both polls ranked No. 9 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and No. 10 in the USCHO.com Poll.
