GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota golfers Robin Hutchinson and Shantel Montgomery have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division I All-American Scholar Team.

In order to receive the honor, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. Hutchinson and Montgomery, both of whom completed their junior season in 2011-12, were among 585 female golfers nationally recognized at the Division I, II and III levels.

Hutchinson, a native of Detroit Lakes, Minn., is an accounting major with a 3.576 cumulative grade point average. She was one of two golfers to compete in all 11 events for UND in 2011-12 and ranked third on the team with an 84.7 scoring average. Hutchinson enjoyed a team-leading four top-20 finishes, including two top-10 performances.

Montgomery, a native of Minot, N.D., is an elementary education major with a 3.921 cumulative grade point average. She competed in eight events last season, landing a pair of top-20 finishes and recording a scoring average of 86.8. Montgomery also served as a team co-captain in 2011-12.

Earlier this summer, UND's women's golf team received its second straight NCAA Public Recognition Award for its most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR), which ranked among the top 10 in the nation.
