Junior running back Jake Miller and several of his North Dakota football teammates had a little busier day than usual on Monday as the team conducted its annual "Media Day" event at the Alerus Center and Memorial Stadium.
Miller and his teammates finished up with their fourth practice of fall camp in the morning before embarking on an afternoon in front of cameras and microphones.
Miller and nine other UND players attended the luncheon at the Alerus Center for local and regional media members before heading back to the practice field for individual photos and a team photo. Each player also got to sit in front of the blue screen in the player's lounge for the in-game video board shots that fans will see throughout the season.
There were more than a dozen media members in attendance to conduct interviews of the players, head coach Chris Mussman and both of UND's coordinators (Greg Breitbach, offense and Mike Mannausau, defense).
The Grand Forks Herald had three writers present, while KVLY (NBC), WDAZ (ABC) and FOX Fargo all had representatives at the event. Midco Sports Network also had a presence with play-by-play announcer Dan Hammer in attendance already working hard during one of his first days on his new job. The Associated Press also had a writer at the event, so there should be plenty of coverage over the next few days to keep UND fans up-to-date.
The media members also got to take a glance at the on-going turf project, which is within a few weeks of completion. Check out a separate photo gallery of its progress right here on UNDsports.com.
The 10 players in attendance at the luncheon were: senior defensive tackle Devin Benjamin, senior defensive end Ross Brenneman, sophomore cornerback Daryl Brown, junior linebacker Garrison Goodman, senior quarterback Braden Hanson, junior wide receiver Greg Hardin, senior offensive guard Emmett Lynch, junior wide receiver R.J. McGill, Miller and senior running back Mitch Sutton.
UNDSports.com also caught up with each of these athletes for an inside look at fall camp and get a progress report from offseason workouts.
