SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Making the program's first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division I regionals, North Dakota placed 22nd today at the Midwest Regional at the Missouri State University Cross Country Course.
UND finished with a team score of 576 and placed ahead of such schools as Nebraska, Drake, Northern Illinois and Creighton in its Division I regional debut.
Iowa State captured the team championship with a team score of 63, behind the efforts of individual winner Betsy Saina. Saina clocked a time of 19:51.46.
Senior Lindsay Anderson (Leeds, N.D.) was UND's top performer with a time of 21:49.07. She placed 41st in the individual standings.
