AMES, Iowa -- University of North Dakota junior Jesse Fenstermacher made history today, breaking the school record in the 800-meters at the Iowa State Classic.
Fenstermacher, a native of Hibbing, Minn., crossed the line in 1 minute, 51.65 seconds, to break the previous record of 1:51.73 set by Aaron Berndt in 2001.
Fenstermacher was UND's lone participant today, with UND also sending a split squad to North Dakota State's Bison Open. Yesterday at Iowa State, Nick Lindstrom and Sam Saccoman each ran personal record times in the 3K.
