Peterson clocks personal record in 1,500-meters

AZUSA, Calif. – Sophomore Nate Peterson ran a personal record time in the 1,500-meters today, highlighting UND’s split squad action at three different meets.

Peterson clocked a time of 3 minutes, 57.84 seconds, at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University. The career-best time also enabled the Horace, N.D., native to place fourth in his section.

Peterson was one of a handful of UND competitors at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

In the 110-meter hurdles, freshman Jimmy Evers (Grand Forks, N.D.) clocked a time of 15.36 seconds, while teammate John LeClerc (Fr., Grafton, N.D.) posted a time of 16.58.

Junior Dwight Mandimika (Harare, Zimbabwe) ran an 800-meters time of 1:57.88, and senior Matthew McCreary (Grand Forks, N.D.) put up a 400-meter hurdles time of 56.98 seconds.

In the field events, freshman D’Monte Farley (Cottage Grove, Minn.) finished first in his long jump flight of 7.05 meters. Four UND competitors also participated in the pole vault, led by Jordan Fisk’s (Jr., Langdon, N.D.) mark of 4.80 meters.

Fenstermacher competes in Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. – Junior Jesse Fenstermacher represented UND’s men’s track and field team at the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays this afternoon.

Fenstermacher, a native of Hibbing, Minn., ran a time of 1 minute, 53.15 seconds in the 800-meters. He was the lone competitor at the meet for UND.

UND also sent several throwers to the Long Beach Invitational, but final results were not yet made available.

The team returns to action Saturday with a full day of events at the Long Beach Invitational at Cerritos College.
