ST. LOUIS, Mo.-- The University of North Dakota baseball team dropped the first two of a four-game set at Saint Louis Friday, falling 6-4 and 12-4. North Dakota is now 0-6 overall on the young season.

Saint Louis struck first, scoring a single run in the bottom of the first inning in game one. UND answered with a run in the second on a triple by Zack Trygstad-- one of his five hits on the afternoon-- followed by an RBI base knock by Ryan Reese.

The Billikens (6-6) tacked on three in the bottom of the second to take a 4-1 advantage but UND immediately answered with three in the top of the next inning to put the score at 4-all. Taylor Petersen hit his fourth double of the season to score two and Reese later plated the third run.

It remained tied until the seventh inning when a two-run homer chased North Dakota starter Andrew Thome and Saint Louis hung on for the 6-4 win. Thome went 6.2 innings with six runs on nine hits and five strikeouts.

Trygstad had three hits in the opener while Reese and Jacob Threlkeld each tallied a pair of hits.

Daniel Lockhert singled to leadoff the seventh and later came around on Threlkeld's sacrifice fly. Trygstad would score in the eighth after a one-out hit, chased home on Patrick Riewer's single to right.

Alex Twenge took the loss, firing four innings, with six hits and nine runs with four walks, three hit batters and three strikeouts.

Calvo, Trygstad and Lockhert each recorded two hits in game two.
