Erik Martinson was named director of facilities and game operations in 2015-16 after spending the previous five years as an operations assistant in the UND Athletics business office.
In his current role, Martinson oversees facility managment for the atheltics department, including scheduling, budget, safety/security and maintenance.
He also serves as the lead for game operations, with direct oversight of all home competitions for UND Athletics along with coordinating and scheduling officials and secondary officials for each contest.
During his time in the business office, Martinson was directly involved with day-to-day business operations, including maintaining budgets and financials for athletics teams and accompanying administration, sport oversight of creating and monitoring budgets and financial operations, accounts payable and accounts receivable and cash functions, as well as team trip travel and reconciliation with credit cards for travel and supplies.
Martinson, a 2011 graduate of UND, is in his ninth year with the UND Athletics Department, including the last five as a full-time employee. He began his tenure as undergraduate intern in 2005 and was promoted to accounting technician in 2009.
Martinson graduated from Roseau (Minn.) High School, where he lettered in football, hockey and baseball. His wife, Natalie, is the head women's golf coach at UND. Their family includes a daughter, Blair.
