From its outdoor ice beginnings in the early 1900s to the best college hockey venue in the world today, the University of North Dakota has a rich history of venues.

Ralph Engelstad Arena (2001-present)

  • The $104 million arena is considered one of best hockey venues in the world.
  • Main NHL-size rink seats approximentaly 11,500 fans.
  • Secondary Olympic-sized rink used for practice, events.
  • World-class weight room and training facility.

Ralph Engelstad Arena/Winter Sports Center (1972-2001)

  • Seating for just over 6,000 in state-of-the-art arena for its time.
  • Three-story addition in 1983 added UND athletics Hall of Fame, coaches office and players' area.

Winter Sports Building/"The Barn" (1936-72)

  • Known for its character "advantages" versus opponents.
  • Home of the start and rise of the UND hockey program.
