Tryout/Walk-on Process

Thank you for your interest in University of North Dakota Athletics. As you make the decision to tryout for one of our fine athletics programs, please keep in mind that NCAA rules require you to complete some steps prior to actually stepping onto the court, field, ice, or pool. To be eligible for a tryout, students must be either enrolled in a full-time course of studies or if the tryout happens before school has started, the student needs to be admitted to the University of North Dakota to begin school in the upcoming semester.

The student wishing to tryout for any team holding open tryouts must complete and submit two forms prior to the beginning of his/her tryout.

The candidate for tryout must also complete and pass a physical with their personal doctor and take a sickle cell solubility test during this physical. The student will be required to produce proof of physical and sickle cell test results prior to being approved for participation in team tryouts. Both the physical and sickle cell test are at the student's expense.

**Teams that will be holding tryouts each year will publicize the date, times and location of the tryout activities. Not all teams will conduct a tryout each year. Thanks again for your interest in UND Athletics and for your continued support.
