GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Senior Dominique Hawkins (Plymouth, Minn.) was one of 41 Football Championship Subdivision kickoff returners named to the College Football Performance Awards’ preseason watch list released on Monday. The organization is releasing watch lists throughout the summer for each position group for which it has an annual award.

Hawkins averaged a Great West-best 28.4 yards per kick return last season, amassing 511 yards on 18 returns. He posted the longest kick return of the season among GWC returners when he raced one back 99 yards at Montana. Hawkins stepped out at the one-yard line on that return, but finished the game with 181 yards on returns, which was also a single-game high for league kick returners.

Hawkins joins teammates Greg Hardin (Bellevue, Neb.), who was named to the CFPA wide receiver watch list, and Brett Cameron (Winnipeg, Manitoba), who was named to the CFPA punter watch list, as Fighting Sioux players recognized this season.

The Fighting Sioux open fall camp on Aug. 3 and play their season opener at home against Drake on Thursday, Sept. 1.
