GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota Department of Athletics announced today that single-game tickets for the 2011 football and volleyball seasons are now on sale.

The Fighting Sioux football team opens the season two weeks from today on Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Alerus Center against the Drake Bulldogs.

It is the first of six home regular season games this year, the first time the Sioux have enjoyed six home regular season games since 2005.

The UND volleyball team, the two-time defending Great West Conference champions, will play 12 home matches at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center and will host the 2011 Great West Conference Tournament in November.

After starting the season on the road next weekend in Green Bay, UND opens the home season Friday, Sept. 2, against future Big Sky Conference opponent Montana at 7 p.m. on the first day of the two-day UND Classic.

Fans can purchase their tickets online at and, in person at the Alerus Center and the UND Box Office at Ralph Engelstad Arena, or by calling 800-745-3000.

The UND Box Office at Ralph Engelstad Arena is open this week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. Beginning next week it will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Alerus Center Box Office is open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On football game days, the Alerus Center Box Office opens at 10 a.m.
