Rose shines at Nebraska's Woody Greeno Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. --- As he has done throughout the early stages of the season, senior Tyler Rose once again led North Dakota's men's cross country team today, placing 43rd among 305 runners at the 22nd annual Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational.

Rose, a native of Brainerd, Minn., clocked a time of 26:26.0 on the 8K course at Pioneer Park.

The sioux placed sixth in the team standings with 170 points. Air Force won the meet with 32 points.

UND also got a stellar performance from freshman Nick Lindstrom (Shakopee, Minn.), who placed 64th with a time of 26:44.1.

Sophomore James Dean (Brainerd, Minn.) joined his teammates in the top 100, placing 81st with a time of 26:59.2.

Jim Walmsley of Air Force won medalist honors with a time of 24:15.3.

The Sioux are off next week and will return to action Oct. 1 at the South Dakota State Classic.
