Sophomore Petsis named to All-GWC First Team

HARLINGEN, Texas -- University of North Dakota sophomore Stephanie Petsis was named to the 2012 All-Great West Conference First Team today at the GWC Tournament.

Petsis, a native of Toronto, Ontario, won a team-leading nine singles matches this season, including a win at No. 1 singles today in the GWC Tournament fifth-place match. She bounced back from an early-season injury to finish the year with a 9-8 singles record, adding a team-leading four doubles wins, all at No. 1.

It is the first career all-conference honor for Petsis, who was UND's Most Valuable Player last season as a freshman.
