GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota head baseball coach Jeff Dodson announced Tuesday the addition of Bryce Nugent to his coaching staff for the 2012-13 season.  Nugent, a recent graduate of Marist College, will serve as volunteer coach.

Nugent captained his Marist squad in his junior and senior seasons, leading to All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team accolades. The Binghamton, N.Y. native was also a second teamer as a sophomore and left Marist with 19 round-trippers for his career. A defensive standout behind the plate, the durable Nugent missed just one game over his final two seasons at Marist.

"I'm very excited to join Coach Dodson and the rest of the staff in Grand Forks," Nugent said. " I'm looking forward to working with our student-athletes, helping them develop in a winning atmosphere as they achieve their goals."

In addition to his collegiate playing career, Nugent was also named to the all-star game of the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summer following his junior season. He spent this past summer as an assistant coach with the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League.
