CHICAGO - The North Dakota women's golf team wrapped up play at the Cougar Classic on Tuesday, finishing the event in 10th place after shooting a 335 (+47) in the final round. The Green and White finished with a two-day total of 660 (+84).
Freshman Abbie Mozzetti (Hugo, Minn.) carded the top score for the Green and White with an 82 (+10). Mozzetti tied for 43rd in the individual standings with teammate Robin Hutchinson (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), who tallied an 84 (+12) to finish with a 166 (+22). Sophomore Amanda Fairweather (Maple Valley, Wash.), who led UND with a 77 (+5) in the opening round was the team's top finisher, tying for 26th after a final round 86 (+14).
Shantel Montgomery (Minot, N.D.) tied for 36th and was two shots off the pace set by Fairweather. Montgomery carded a 165 (+21).
Indiana State rallied to win the event with a final round 316 (+28), while IUPUI - the first-round leader - and Valparaiso tied for second (635, +32).
UND will have nearly four weeks off before its next event where the team will conclude its fall season at the LPGA Xavier Invitational Oct. 12-14.
