GRAND FORKS, N.D. - North Dakota will open Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) play next weekend ranked fourth in both major national polls released earlier today.

UND had been ranked No. 2 in both polls, but slid two spots after splitting its two games last weekend at the Brice Alaska Goal Rush in Fairbanks. UND, which received a first-place vote in the USCHO.com poll, blanked Alaska Anchorage on Friday before falling 2-1 to host Alaska on Saturday.

Defending NCAA champion Boston College regained the top spot in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.

UND hosts Alaska Anchorage on Friday and Saturday in the WCHA opener for both teams. The puck drops at 7:37 p.m. on Friday and 7:07 p.m. on Saturday.
