WENTZVILLE, Mo. --- The University of North Dakota women's hockey team was looking for a quicker start in today's series finale against Lindenwood and jumped all over the Lions with a four-goal first period. UND would blow the game open in the second period on its way to an 8-4 victory.

Senior Jocelyne Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) led the offensive attack as for the second consecutive game UND had a skater tally four goals. Freshman Meghan Dufault (Winnipeg, Manitoba) accomplished the feat yesterday on her way to a six-point game while Jocelyne Lamoureux finished with a five-point game today.

Jocelyne Lamoureux found the back of the net for her first goal of 2013 and opened the game's scoring at 9:01 of the first period. Fellow senior Jordan Slavin (Erie, Colo.) would add back-to-back power-play goals for her second and third goals of the season and Josefine Jakobsen scored at the 16:56 mark as UND took a 4-0 lead into the first period.

North Dakota tallied 27 shots on goal in the opening frame, matching yesterday's second period which both tied the program record.

North Dakota allowed the opening goal of the second period, but  answered with three straight goals including two by Jocelyne Lamoureux to give her a hat trick through two periods and Sam LaShomb (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) scored her first collegiate goal coming on a 4-on-3 power play.

Both teams went scoreless through the first half of the third period before the Lions found the back of the net for their second goal. Jocelyne Lamoureux scored UND's fourth power-play goal of the game at 15:13 to open an 8-2 lead. UND concluded the game 4-for-7 on the man-advantage.

UND would make a goaltender change with the six-goal lead as Shelby Amsley-Benzie (Warroad, Minn.) excited the game with 19 saves and having allowed two goals.

Sophomore Michelle Bonapace-Potvin (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) entered the game for the final 4:07 of regulation and in her first action of the season made five saves while allowing two goals.

In a penalty-filled second and third periods, UND's penalty-kill held the Lions scoreless in six attempts and 0-for-7 in the game.

Sophomore Josefine Jakobsen (Aalborg, Denmark) concluded the game with four points including one goal.

The Lions netminder Nicole Hensley saw a ton of rubber again this afternoon and although allowing eight goals made 46 saves and 99 total saves on the weekend.

UND returns to Western Collegiate Hockey Association action next weekend as it heads to Minneapolis to take on the top-ranked and undefeated Minnesota Gophers on Friday and Saturday.
