Des Moines, Iowa- UND women's tennis was defeated 6-1 by the University of Illinois-Chicago Saturday morning in Des Moines, Iowa, in a match that Head Coach Tom Wynne is considering their best effort of the season.

"I thought we played a great team and Steph Petsis had a great round so it was a good effort. It was probably our best effort of the year," said Wynne.

UIC began the match strong by winning the doubles point. The Flames defeated UND in all three doubles competitions by scores of 8-2.

Junior Stephanie Petsis was the lone singles winner for UND. The Toronto, Ontario native defeated Haley Craig with a 6-0, 7-6 score.
