LOS ANGELES-- The University of North Dakota men's swimming team sits in 10th place through two day at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation meet held at East Los Angeles College. Wyoming leads defending-champ Brigham Young by a point and a half through 14 events.

The diving championships are being held in Colorado Springs, Colo. and the UND trio of Richard Eberle, Drew Germain and Clayton Metcalf all scored points and finished in the top 14 in the 3-meter event. Eberle grabbed 12 team points with his seventh-place finish (297.80). Germain was 12th and Metcalf 14th for 20 combined team points through one diving event.

"We had a good first day," UND diving coach Brian Strom said. "We were never able to put together a complete list, but were able to compete good enough to place. This is a good start and we hope we can hit all our dives on the 1-meter board."

In the swim championships, Adam Gannon was 18th in the 200 IM with a 1:52.12 clocking. He also teamed with Colin MacQuarrie, Wes Schultz and Zak Gosney to take 10th in the 200 free relay.

The four-day meet continues Friday.
