Trio of runners shine in 10K at Shamrock Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Three North Dakota runners, all running in the 10K for the first time at the collegiate level, finished among the top five today at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational.

Sophomore Erin Wysocki (Grand Forks, N.D.), along with freshmen Lydia Lutz (Park Rapids, Minn.) and Jami Johnson (Glasgow, Mont.), placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, as the three-day meet got underway.

Wysocki clocked a time of 38:35.27, while Lutz and Johnson checked in at 39:17.34 and 39:21.64, respectively.

Brenae Edwards of Mansfield won the race with a meet-record time of 34:51.66, while Ohio State's Mallory Kreider was the runner-up at 37:24.43.

The 10K was the lone event of the day. The meet continues Friday and Saturday.
