GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The North Dakota men’s team was defeated by South Dakota State by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Choice Health and Fitness Center.

North Dakota won two of the three doubles matches, earning the point and getting out to a strong start.

But it was all SDSU in singles action, winning all six singles matches.

Freshman Will Biernat (Eagan, Minn.) came the closest to a victory as he opened his match with a 6-2 win in the first set, but Lucas Pereira battled back to earn a 6-4 decision in the second set and won the the third-set tie breaker 10-4.

North Dakota returns to action this Friday as it heads to Idaho State in Big Sky Conference action.
