GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota fans will hear a pair of familiar voices calling two additional sports this spring.

UND Athletics Director Brian Faison announced today that longtime radio announcers Tim Hennessy and Paul Ralston will serve as the play-by-play announcers for UND baseball and softball, respectively, for all home games in 2013. The games will be available via  webcast at UNDSports.com and the UND Sports mobile apps on iPhones and Android.

“We are excited to have Tim and Paul handling the play-by-play duties for UND baseball and softball,” said Faison. “They will both bring a great love of the game and a tremendous depth of broadcast experience to the microphone for these sports and for our fans.”

Hennessy, who has been the radio voice of UND men’s hockey for 34 seasons, will team with Studio One’s Brian Gendreau and UND Associate Media Relations Director Ryan Powell to call all 18 home baseball games.

Ralston has served as the radio voice of UND men’s basketball since 2005-06 and has also doubled as UND’s radio and web announcer for UND volleyball. He will team with UND New Media Director Matt Schill for the call of all 13 home softball games.

UND will open the home softball season on Friday, April 12, at 2 p.m. against Big Sky Conference rival Southern Utah. The game will be played at LaFave Park in East Grand Forks, Minn., due to poor field conditions at Apollo Softball Complex.

The UND baseball team will make its home debut on Friday, April 19, against Great West Conference foe Utah Valley at Kraft Memorial Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
