Weather forces cancellation of home-opening series

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Great West Conference baseball series between Utah Valley and North Dakota, scheduled for April 19-21 at Kraft Memorial Field in Grand Forks, N.D., has been cancelled due to unplayable conditions caused by snow. The cancellation was announced Wednesday by the conference office.

With several inches of snow already on the ground in the Grand Forks area, and the forecast for more snow this week, the series had to be cancelled. The Great West office and administrators from both institutions discussed several options to get the games in, however, no solution was found. In accordance with Great West Bylaws, the games will not be rescheduled.

North Dakota’s next scheduled game is a Tuesday, April 23 home game against South Dakota State.
