SAN ANTONIO - Seniors Nick Schaefer and Alex Robb led a four-stroke improvement for the University of North Dakota men's golf team in round two play at the America Sky Championship on Tuesday.

UND shot a 313 (+25) after opening the tournament being played at the The Dominion Country Club with a 317 (+29) on Monday. Schaefer and Robb both carded a 78 (+6), while sophomore Collin Lervick led the team for the second-straight day with a 77 (+5) in his second round.

Schaefer was three-over through 15 holes before a triple bogey moved him to six-over, which is where he finished. He made back-to-back birdies on No. 9 and No. 10. Robb showed the best improvement for the team, shaving four strokes off his opening-round 80.

He led the team with four birdies and fired a 37 (+1) on the front nine. Lervick shot an even-par 36 on the front nine, but gave away five strokes on the back to finish at five-over.

Junior Sean Halverson made only pars and bogeys during his second round to shoot an 80 (+8).

Southern Utah moved into the lead in the team standings after posting a 285 (-3). The Thunderbirds lead first-round leader and tournament host Houston Baptist by a stroke after the Huskies fell back to the pack with a 300 (+12).

Sacramento State, who is the defending champion, moved into a tie for third after posting the low round of the day with a 284 (-4).

Final round action is set for Wednesday.
