DES MOINES, IOWA-- Sophomore-to-be Jayd Eggert (Minot, N.D.) finished in fourth place in the javelin throw contested Friday at the U.S. Junior Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium. Eggert becomes the second UND athlete in as many days to earn All-America accolades after D'Monte Farley took eighth in the triple jump Thursday.

Eggert's third toss-- 44.60 meters-- advanced her into the finals in sixth place. On her second throw in the final flight, Eggert launched a 45.61-meter throw that would give her fourth place behind winner Megan Glasmann's (Mercury Track Club) toss of 50.78 meters.

The top eight finishers in each event earn USA Track and Field All-America honors, and the top two qualify for the Pan Am Junior Games. The meet concludes Saturday with three UND athletes set to compete. Ke-Ke Burks and Molly Griep will represent North Dakota in the discus while incoming UND recruit John Hoplin will contest the javelin.
