GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota head men's golf coach Tim Swanson announced Friday that the program will conduct an open tryout session Aug. 26-27.

The tryout session is open to all full-time, academically eligible UND students with a current USGA handicap index of 5.0 or less. All players must be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center. To register, go to www.elilgibilitycenter.org.

To attend the tryout session, contact Swanson in advance at (701) 777-2155. Students wishing to try out must provide the following:

  • A completed University of North Dakota Team Tryout Waiver (available at www.undsports.com/tryouts)
  • Verification of handicap
  • Proof of medical insurance
  • Proof of a doctor's physical within the last six months
  • Proof of current, full-time enrollment at UND
  • An NCAA ID#

The tryout session on Aug. 26 will consist of 36 holes at the Grand Forks Country Club and will conclude with 18 holes at the Ray Richards Golf Course on UND's campus Aug. 27. Tryouts begin at 8:30 a.m. on both days.
