GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota women’s soccer freshman forward Zoe Foster has been named the Big Sky Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Helping North Dakota pick up its first win of the season, Foster scored the game-winning goal against in-state rival North Dakota State on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The goal secured a 4-2 win over the Bison, snapping a 17-game winless streak for UND. She also helped on the opening goal of the game, assisting on sophomore Caitlin Dahl’s first collegiate goal in the 11th minute.

Foster finished the game against NDSU with three shots on goal and currently leads North Dakota with five points off of two goals and one assist. In Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Boise State, Foster started in her sixth game of the season playing a total of 76 minutes.

The weekly honor is the first for the freshman and is the first for North Dakota since Megan Anderson was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 28, 2012.

Portland State's goalkeeper Caitlin Plese was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

North Dakota returns to the pitch on Friday, hosting South Dakota at 3 p.m.
