GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota Athletics Department will hold open auditions to perform the national anthem at UND sporting events during the remainder of the 2013-14 sports season.

The auditions will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Ralph Engelstad Arena from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate and pre-registration is not required.

A panel of representatives from the UND Athletics Department and Ralph Engelstad Arena will evaluate the performances based on vocal talents and fit with the atmosphere of sporting events.

Following the tryout, the participants selected to perform the national anthem at sporting events will be contacted with a schedule of available dates for the remainder of the 2013-14 season.

Those who cannot make the auditions, but would like to be considered for available dates, should send a link of a video hosted on services such as YouTube to jason.namanny@athletics.UND.edu.  However, in-person auditions are strongly preferred.

Participants are asked to enter the main doors of the REA and proceed to the concourse area, where a member of the athletics department will be there to take registration information.

For more information, contact UND Athletics Assistant Marketing Director Jason Namanny at jason.namanny@athletics.UND.edu.
