FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The University of North Dakota soccer team was unable to find a win on the road at Northern Arizona, as the Lumberjacks shut out UND, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.

“Forget about the stats and the score, we played a very disciplined game today and never stopped running,” head coach Matt Kellogg said. “This was our first weekend this season playing at altitude and it took its toll on us a bit.

“NAU was a very skilled and athletic team that took advantage of the few chances that we gave them. I’m very happy with our group today especially bouncing back from a disappointing result on Friday.”

After scoring two goals against Southern Utah in a 3-2 loss on Friday, North Dakota could only get four shots off against NAU, with only one shot making its way on target.

The Lumberjacks opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a goal from Lindsay Doyle. The final goal was scored in 80th minute by Shawnee Morgan.

Junior goalkeeper, and Big Sky Conference saves leader, Kristi Hestdalen made three saves in the contest, as Northern Arizona only placed five of its 16 shots on target.

North Dakota returns home to wrap up the 2013 season with contests against Idaho State on Friday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. and Weber State for senior day on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m.
