MILWAUKEE, Wis.-- Sophomore Mia Loyd's 6-0 run in the second half gave visiting North Dakota a 58-52 lead that it never relinquished in a 78-66 win over Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon. Senior Madi Buck had a team-high 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds while Loyd tallied 13 points and 13 boards.

North Dakota (3-2) picked up its third straight win with the victory and its first on the road this season. The gritty effort came thanks to a +18 rebounding edge, including a whopping 25 offensive boards to offset a sluggish shooting start.

UND was 1-of-11 in the early going and Milwaukee (2-5) clinged to a one-point lead. With the score 21-21, North Dakota embarked on a 10-0 run sparked by three-pointers from Kelsey Knox and Megan Lauck. UWM scored the final five points of the first frame as UND held a 31-26 lead at the break.

Coming out of the intermission, the teams traded leads, battling to gain an edge. The Panthers went on an 11-2 run to regain the lead brielfy at 37-36. The lead changed hands three more times until an Ashley Green layup squared the game at 52-apiece.

From there, Loyd-- who had just one point in the first half-- hit a tough layup and followed with a turnaround jumper in the paint and another lay-in for a six-point UND cushion. She would finish the night with her second double-double of the season and is now averaging 13.0 points and 9.4 rebounds in her sophomore campaign.

Macie Dorow hit a triple with 2:05 left to make things interesting at 71-65 down the stretch but UND iced the game on the next trip as Loyd answered with another bucket underneath to put the contest out of reach.

UND had four players in double figures scoring as Emily Evers and Megan Lauck each added 10 points. North Dakota got 29 points from its reserve players and recorded 47 second-half points in the victory.

Milwaukee's Angela Rodriguez led all players with 21 points while Green added 17 and Avyanna Young chipped in 13 for the Panthers.

North Dakota returns to action Sunday at Minnesota. Tip time is set for 2:00 p.m. Central.

Notes: The 11:00 a.m. start was for a "School Day with the Panthers" that invited elementary and middle school kids into the event ... It was an announced sellout of 3,500 ... Lauck left the game in the second half with a knee injury and did not return ... North Dakota recorded 53 rebounds, the second straight game with 50+ boards ... UND has outrebounded its opponent in four straight games.
