GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Both the men's and women's tennis teams of Sacramento State were tabbed as the preseason favorites in the Big Sky Conference coaches' poll released Wednesday afternoon.

The Sacramento State women’s team was a unanimous pick in preseason polls, while the men garnered all but one first-place votes, since coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

The powerhouse Hornet women’s program received 10 first-place votes and 100 total points. Sacramento State has won 12 consecutive Big Sky women’s titles. The Sacramento State men received nine first-place votes and 98 total points. Sacramento State has won six of the last seven championships, and 11 since joining the league in the 1996-97 season.

In the men's poll, North Dakota received 21 points for 10th place; while on the women's side UND earned 12 points for 11th place.

UND's men's tennis team finished the 2013 season with a 4-12 overall record, while going 2-8 in Big Sky action. The women posted a 3-16 overall record and a 0-10 record in the Big Sky.

The tennis season begins on Jan. 26, when the women's team heads to Minneapolis for a dual against Minnesota. The men's team starts its season on Feb. 8 with a dual against Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo.
