GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota women’s tennis team played in its final home match of the season on Sunday evening against Big Sky Conference opponent Sacramento State. UND fell to the Hornets by a score of 7-0.

Sacramento State won each of the three doubles matches to take the 1-0 lead early in the match. The No. 1 doubles match between North Dakota junior Callie Ronkowski (Grand Forks, N.D.) and freshman Mikaela Bennett (Calgary, Alberta) was the closest doubles match for UND. They fell to Olivia Boija and Sophie Lohscheidt by a score of 8-6.

The Hornets continued to play well throughout the match and earned the remaining six points.

Ronkowski and Alina Soltanici had the closest match of the night at No. 2 singles. Soltanici defeated Ronkowski with scores of 6-4, 7-5.

North Dakota will travel to Greeley, Colorado to face Northern Colorado in Big Sky Conference action on Friday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m.
