GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota and the UND Alumni Association & Foundation, along with the UND Women’s Council, will celebrate the rich and storied history of UND women’s athletics in late September in Grand Forks.

All former UND Athletics female student-athletes, coaches, staff and their families are invited to participate in a weekend of festivities on Sept. 26-27. The schedule of events includes a Welcome Reception on Friday, Sept. 26, at Playmaker’s All American Lounge, as well as a celebration brunch on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Carla Christofferson, a UND alumna and the former owner of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, will serve as the keynote speaker.

UND Athletics Director Brian Faison and legendary UND women’s basketball coach Gene Roebuck, who led the program to three consecutive NCAA Division II championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999, will also serve as guest speakers.

Attendees are also invited to attend the UND volleyball match vs. Idaho, the swimming and diving alumni meet and the women’s hockey exhibition game vs. Pursuit of Excellence, all scheduled for Sept. 27.

Teams will also host their own private team socials throughout the weekend.

“This is a weekend a long time in the making and one we are all looking forward to,” said Faison. “The University of North Dakota is incredibly proud of its wonderful tradition of success in women’s athletics, one that includes NCAA championships, conference championships, All-Americans and Academic All-Americans. This event will allow the pioneers of that tradition to reunite, share and celebrate throughout a terrific weekend of events.”

To register visit www.undalumni.org/womensathletics by Sept. 12. Tickets to the event are $40 per person and include all celebration events, along with game day tickets for up to two individuals per game.

For hotel information and any additional information, contact Brooke Conlin, UND’s Associate Director of Events, at 701.777.3493.
