SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of North Dakota women’s tennis team won a singles and a doubles match against Creighton Friday night in Sioux Falls, S.D., but the Fighting Hawks ended up losing the dual to the BlueJays, 6-1.

Sophomore Preethi Kasilingam won her ninth singles match of the season, taking the No. 2 match against Creighton, 6-4, 6-1.

Sophie Allen-Fisher and Mimi Yunker paired together for their second-straight doubles win, downing the Bluejays in the No. 2 match without losing a game, 6-0.

While the Bluejays won the rest of the day’s matches, UND put up fights in the No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches. Allen-Fisher fought back after losing the first set, 6-1, to win the second set 6-2, before unfortunately losing the third, 6-1. Freshman Alysse Nakasato won the first set of her No. 6 singles match, 7-6, but ended up dropping the final two sets.

North Dakota remains in Sioux Falls, S.D., and will take on the South Dakota Coyotes tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. (CT).
