Grand Forks, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota’s annual swim camp will take place June 11-15, 2017, head swimming and diving coach Chris Maiello announced. The camp, which is open to all competitive swimmers, gives kids from across the country the opportunity to interact with and learn from UND’s athletes, coaches and staff, fresh off their record-setting year. This season, the Fighting Hawks made 15 NCAA provisional cuts, set 15 school records and tallied their highest point total since UND joined the Western Athletic Conference.

At camp, each day, athletes receive four hours of in-water instruction from the UND coaching staff, complete with individual video review and feedback from current UND swimmers.  Outside of the pool, introductory sessions on nutrition, strength training and dryland give campers a preview of what it means to be a well rounded athlete.

Campers also get a taste of life at UND and in the city of Grand Forks. All camp residents stay in UND dorms and have unlimited access to UND dining halls during their stay. On top of that, they get to have fun in the community, rock climbing at the campus rec center, bowling at Red Ray Lanes and enjoying the water slides at Splasher’s Park.

"Our camp is second-to-none in providing outstanding skill instruction, comprehensive stroke analysis and an inviting social atmosphere," Maiello said. "Every year, we get a large number of returning campers because they not only learned a lot but also had a great time."

Registration for this year’s camp is now open but is limited to 100 swimmers. For more information, please visit
