OGDEN, Utah-- With two more pitching gems last week, UND senior Kaylin VanDomelen was named the Big Sky Conference's Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive time Tuesday. She followed up a week in which she won two games-- including a no-hitter-- and saved two by twirling two complete-game masterpieces in wins over Hampton and Big Ten's Rutgers.
She defeated Rutgers in an eight-inning game Saturday, allowing just four hits without an earned run as North Dakota took out the Scarlet Knights, 2-1. She struck out nine in the win and walked just two. A day later, she again punched out nine, going the distance and allowing just one earned run for a weekly earned run average of 0.47.
On the season, VanDomelen is 5-5 with a 2.84 ERA and a Big Sky-leading 73 strikeouts in 66.2 innings.
North Dakota heads to Cal Poly for five games beginning Friday before a week-long stay in Hawaii for the Rainbow Wahine Classic.
