West Des Moines, Iowa -- North Dakota's Jordan Smith capped the fall season by equaling the low round of his collegiate career on Tuesday. The Bismarck native fired a 73 (+2) that included a trio of birdies in his closing six holes during the final round of the Zach Johnson Invitational.

Smith moved up eight spots to finish 39th in the 68-player field. He posted a 231 (+18) that was also tops among the Fighting Hawks, who placed 11th witha 980 total (+128). Junior Jeremy Kirk and Keaton Wolf both shot final round scores of 82 (+11), while freshman Cole Kerns added an 85 (+14) to count towards the UND team score.

Indian Hills Community College captured the team title thanks to a 288 (+4) in the final round. The JUCO-squad entered the day trailing South Dakota by a stroke, but the a 68 (-4) from George Clarke helped overcome the slim deficit and win by five strokes. Clarke's stellar play helped him capture medalist honors by two strokes as he finished with a 214 (+1) total. Day-one leader Drew Ison from Drake finished second. 

UND will return to action in the spring with the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational scheduled for Feb. 12-13 in St. George, Utah.
