LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- North Dakota junior Jenna Janu put together another solid round of golf and is tied for fourth after 36 holes of the Aggie Invitational. Janu carded a 73 (+1) in second-round play Tuesday and is only three strokes off the lead shared by UTEP's Lily Downs and Weber State's Kiselya Plewe.

Her efforts helped the Fighting Hawks post their lowest score of the season for the second-straight day. With a 75 (+3) from freshman Ashlyn Guggisberg and a 76 (+4) from Ally Rogers, UND was able to improve its first-round score by three strokes to finish at 302 (+14). That total is the third-best single round team scoring during the program's Division I era.

Janu bounced back from a rocky start to finish her round, which included four birdies, by posting a 73 (+1). She was four-over par after four holes, but she would birdie holes 14-16 to get back to even-par before giving back one more shot down the stretch.

Junior Hanna Peterson also shot in the 70's for the Fighting Hawks as her 78 (+4) was four strokes better than her first round. Guggisberg had three birdies during her second loop around the NMSU Golf Course and is tied for 15th, while Rogers had 14 pars and four bogeys in her second round. Rogers is tied for 24th.

Sacramento State, who is one of four Big Sky teams competing along with UND, added three strokes to its first-round lead and will take a 10-stroke advantage into Wednesday's final round. The Hornets hold that lead on UTEP, who is followed by UC Riverside (596; +20). The host Aggies equaled UC Riverside with the low round of the day at 292 (+4) and surged into fourth place with a 598 (+20) total.

UND sits in seventh place entering the final round with a 607 (+31) total. The Fighting Hawks are 15 shots clear of UT Rio Grand Valley in eighth place and 22 strokes and 36 strokes ahead of Big Sky foes Weber State and Southern Utah, respectively.
