GRAND FORKS, N.D. – After having lost just twice in its first 10 games, the University of North Dakota hockey team has climbed inside the top five of both national polls that were released on Monday.
North Dakota, coming off a win and a tie at Wisconsin over the weekend, was ranked No. 2 by USCHO.com and No. 4 by USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine. It was an improvement of two spots in the former and one spot in the latter. UND defeated the Badgers 3-2 on Friday before skating to a 2-2 overtime draw on Saturday.
St. Cloud State unseated Denver atop both polls after improving to 7-0-0 with a sweep of Minnesota Duluth.
UND will host Miami in NCHC action on Friday and Saturday at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The RedHawks remained unranked this week but received votes in the USCHO.com poll.
