OGDEN, Utah-- North Dakota’s Faith Dooley and Sacramento State’s Kennedy Kurtz earned this week’s #BigSkyVB player of the week honors. Kurtz was named the Offensive Player of the Week honoree, while Dooley picked up the Defensive Player of the Week award, her third weekly honor and second defensive nod.

Dooley powered North Dakota to two more home wins this week, extending the Fighting Hawks winning streak at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center to 16 straight matches with an incredible 32 straight set-wins in that stretch. Thursday, she hammered home a dozen kills in the sweep of Idaho and Saturday she was just a kill shy of a double-double with a team-high nine kills-- without an error-- and 10 total blocks in the win over Eastern Washington.

Dooley hit an efficient .541 for the week, killing 21 balls on just 37 swings and only one attack error. She added 14 total blocks for the week to push her league-leading total to 104 on the season. She paces the Big Sky Conference in hitting percentage at .406 on the campaign.

The Wheatland, N.D., native highlights the Big Sky career leaderboard as she ranks fourth in block assists (478), sixth in total blocks (581), tied for 17th in solo blocks (103) and 19th in block average (1.29 blocks/s) in Big Sky history.

A showdown of conference unbeatens occurs Thursday as UND heads to Sacramento State followed by another tough battle Saturday against Portland State.
