Game Notes: Now it's for real

This Week 
North Dakota opens the regular season when it visits an old WCHA foe, Alaska Anchorage, for a non-conference series on Friday and Saturday at Sullivan Arena.
It marks UND’s meetings with the Seawolves since 2012-13 when the two programs were last conference rivals. UND last visited Anchorage in Oct. 2011.

Media Coverage  
All UND men’s hockey games, home and away, can be heard on 96.1 FM (The Fox) and on stations across the UND Sports Home of Economy Radio Network, as well as through the iHeart Radio app. Longtime broadcaster Tim Hennessy, in his 39th season as the voice of UND men’s hockey, calls the action while Steve Olson provides color analysis for all home games.
This weekend’s series will not be televised but both games will be streamed live via WCHA.tv.

About Alaska Anchorage
The Seawolves made their 2017-18 debut last Saturday with a 6-1 exhibition win over Simon Fraser University in Eagle River, Alaska. Senior F Austin Azurdia had a hat trick and added an assist, while Matt Anholt and Nicolas Erb-Ekholm each had three assists.

Anholt led the team in scoring last season as a junior with 22 points (5 goals, 17 assists) in 34 games.

Senior Olivier Mantha returns in goal after starting 29 of UAA’s 34 games last season, going 7-18-4 with a 2.82 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
In all, the Seawolves return 17 letterwinners from last year’s squad.
