Runners get season underway at Bison Duals

FARGO, N.D. -- An eighth-place finish by sophomore Erin Wysocki and a 12th-place effort by freshman Lydia Lutz in her collegiate debut highlighted UND's performance today at the season-opening Bison Cross Country Duals.

Wysocki, who was the Great West Conference Freshman of the Year last season, ran the 5K course in 19:04.79. Lutz, meanwhile, completed her first race in 19:29.40 to pace all UND newcomers.

UND fell 15-35 to host North Dakota State and 20-38 to South Dakota State.

NDSU boasted the race's to five individual finishers, led by medalist Brecca Wahlund.

UND will take a week off and will return to action Sept. 14 at the South Dakota State Classic.
