Women's cross country claims seventh in Big Sky

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Competing in the program's first Big Sky Conference Championship, the University of North Dakota women's cross country team placed seventh among 11 teams today at Buffalo Park.

Defending conference champion Weber State captured its second straight title with a team score of 29, led by the top three individual finishers in the 5K race. WSU's Amber Henry placed first with a time of 16:59.7, while teammates Sarah Callister and Taylor Thorney placed second and third, respectively.

North Dakota posted a team score of 204 to finish ahead of the likes of Sacramento State, Portland State, Montana and Eastern Washington.

Senior Lindsay Anderson (Leeds, N.D.) was the top performer for UND, placing 15th with a time of 18:03.3. Anderson and junior Jordyn Dass (Hopkins, Minn.) were the only two upperclassmen in a UND lineup that also featured four sophomores and two freshmen.
